Wenfei Law’s Christoph Koeppel held a speech about restructuring in China on February 12th, 2009. In order to maximize their profitability, enterprises are in a constant need of reorganization. Larger reorganization may lead to adjustments in the legal structure of a company, a restructure. In this context, the speech mentioned possible restructuring options for enterprises in China, named advantages of such options and covered e.g. the approval and registration process for possible restructuring options. A special focus was set on “offshore set-ups”, especially involving a Hong Kong parent company for a Chinese Foreign Invested Enterprise.
